Renting a motorcycle for a cross-state road trip
Been thinking about doing a proper multi-state ride like back when I was running with a biker club. Those days are long gone and I sold my bike years ago, been driving cars ever since. Wouldn't mind renting something solid for a week or two though, just to see if I've still got it in me. Are there actually decent rental options out there for this kind of thing?

Cross-state trips on a bike are a different experience compared to cars, you feel every mile and the weather hits you directly. Rental companies do exist but they're not as common as car rentals, and the good bikes get booked up fast during riding season. Check what kind of mileage limits they put on rentals, some places cap you at a few hundred miles per day which kills long-distance plans.

After years off a bike your body needs to remember what multi-hour rides feel like before deciding if this is really what you want. The romance of the open road hits different when you're older and your back starts complaining after day two. You can look at motorcycle rental options here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/motorcycle-rental . Figure out your route first, then see what bikes they've got at pickup points along the way so you're not stuck with something uncomfortable for the entire journey.
