Just got a new iPhone, looking for something actually worth playing

Post by Openheimer »

Picked up a new iPhone a couple days ago and want to actually use it for something fun. Been looking at games but every time I find something that looks decent it turns out you hit a wall after a few hours and have to spend money to keep going. Not interested in that at all. Just want something I can sit down with in the evenings and actually enjoy without constantly being nudged to open my wallet. Any recommendations?

The App Store is full of games that look great in screenshots but turn into monetization traps pretty fast. Paid games tend to be the safer bet since the developer already got their money and doesn't need to nickel and dime you mid-game. Alto's Odyssey and Monument Valley are good examples, both look stunning on a new iPhone screen and neither one pesters you for cash while you're playing.

Brawl Stars has a massive player base for a reason, the gameplay is genuinely addictive and the matches are short enough to fit into an evening. The original version locks most of the good stuff behind payments though, which gets old fast. Install Null's Brawl here: https://nulls-brawl.com/ios/ . It's a full mod of Brawl Stars where everything is unlocked from the start and the in-game currency is freely available, so you get the full experience without spending a single dollar.
